Transferring Homeownership with Little to No Taxes
I am looking for more information on ways to save on tax fees for transferring homeownership from a parent to myself. I have read that if a parents gifts it, then it can be transferred tax free. The same may apply for putting the house into a trust. I'm not sure how accurate this is but any help/articles/info would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. The parent is still alive and we are looking to transfer ownership much sooner than in a will.
