Should I escrow or not during refinance ?
Hello,
I am going through my primary home refinance, my new lender is pushing me to escrow property taxes and insurance even though I have an excellent loan to value. My preference is to pay myself directly for insurance and property taxes. I find it as an hassle especially when property tax fluctuates, I think handling taxes and insurance myself gives me more control. How do I approach the lender to waive escrow, I am somewhat afraid this escrow negotiation may impact my interest rate, I guess I will need to handle this tactfully.Appreciate inputs from the experienced members here.
Thanks

These days most lenders (at least the ones I typically work with) do not have a pricing "hit" for waiving impounds. It shouldn't matter.
