Financing for Canadians

Hi all!

I approached BMO HARRIS and ROYAL BANK for financing. I have 2 homes with no mortgage on them, one of the homes is rented and I would like to re finance the rented home. The other Home is being rehabbed. Discussion was going well until I told them that the home was rented and they advised me that the do not lend due to this? It makes n sense to me? Income coming in and no mortgage on the house.. any suggestions for us canadians with a traditional lender/bank? Thank you!
