Are hard money lenders just for properties?

If you needed money for marketing purposes, would a hard money lender help out with that situation? Or are they strictly for real estate deals only?

Do not borrow money to spend on marketing!

Do not borrow money to buy guru junk!

Only borrow money on RE, nothing else!

Borrowing money that is simply expensed that doesn't go into an earning asset is very poor money management. There is no guarantee that spending money on those areas will make you money, which means you're just going into more debt. Get a job, a second job, sell something, don't borrow. :)
