Transitioning into Loan Officer

Hi! I was seeking some insight from CA based Loan Officers (specifically independent LO’s) regarding how you got started, your day to day, and compensation. I am currently W2’d working on a team for a mortgage company and am considering transitioning into being an independent LO. My W2 is my primary source of raising capital to build my investment portfolio. I realize this is rather personal info so please feel free to message me if you’re open to a discussion and thank you in advance!
