VA Home Loan for Investment Property

Hello!

I am currently serving in the Army at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. With a year left in the Army, I am exploring my options and the benefits that come with being a veteran. One of those great benefits is the VA Home Loan where I am able to put $0 down on a house.

As my contract is coming to an end, real estate investing has been something I’d love to get into.

That being said, is there anyone out there who has invested in real estate using their VA Home Loan? Is it doable? What were some of the lessons you learned? Thanks in advance!

Hey Zachary, thanks for your service! I'm active duty in the coast guard stationed in Seattle. I'm currently house hacking my first property with the VA loan. The main thing about the VA loan is it has to be an owner occupied property for atleast a year. I'm a realtor also mainly working with clients who are interested in house hacking, long term & short term rentals. If you want to connect and chat some more feel free to reach out anytime!
