Where to move in Atlanta?

Hello! My husband's job is relocating to Alpharetta so we are looking at purchasing a home in the Atlanta area. We explored some areas and liked Martin's Landing in Roswell and certain neighborhoods in Atlanta like Cabbagetown. We like older homes with more established neighborhoods. We are in our mid-30s and looking to start a family. Ideally we would love to find a duplex that we could BRRRR but those are hard to come by. In my research, I discovered Stone Mountain which seems much more affordable but am wondering if it will appreciate like the other areas? I know this is a pretty broad question but any advice would be helpful in our search!

Ideally, we would like to stay in the 300k-400k range but realize we may have to spend more.

Thank you!
