Tennent broke lease to purchase a home

I have a rental property in Indianapolis. Our tenant bought a home(unbeknownst) to me and moved out of our home with no warning with 6 months left on the lease. My property manager said it’s not worth going after the tenant for unpaid rent, but any suggestions here? I was considering putting a lien on their new property? Any advice?

Get it rented and tell your PM that they better have kept the entire deposit and give it to you to cover the rent.  Don't let the PM tell you they are keeping it and if they returned it, tell them they (the PM) is on the hook for the bill as they should have known better and followed the terms of the lease.  You could take the tenant to small claims court.
