Buying 1st investment property & I’m a Realtor

Posted

Hi BP Family,

I’m a Realtor out of Florida and am looking to purchase my first rental property. Once I find it, I know I need to disclose to the listing agent that I am a Realtor. I am just unsure how to frame the transaction side as to Im now part of the transaction.

-What happens to the commission?

- Is it eliminated, reduced, or remain untouched?

-Is there a “standard/best practice” when it comes to this?

I believe that’s the only aspect of the transaction that will be different, please let me know if there is anything that I’m missing as well.

Thanks for any advice!
