GREAT comeback story...who's got one?

We're currently at 36+ million jobs lost, businesses struggling across the country, economic uncertainty for many, and a lot of people likely to lose a lot over the next year or two. I'd love to hear some great comeback stories from those who've lost jobs, declared bankruptcy, lost their investments etc. and found a way to build themselves back into a success.  It would be very inspiring and empowering for many to get a thread of individuals who have overcome major setbacks and where they are today.  So...who's got one?
