Vinyl VS. Carpet (Rental)

Debating wether to put Vinyl or Carpet in a lower class apartment. Vinyl is about twice the cost but won’t have have to be replaced as fast as carpet.

Will vinyl bring slightly higher rent?

Is it worth the investment?

I figure I’ll be replacing carpet very frequently but my contractor thinks I’d be replacing the vinyl fairly frequently as well. He also doesn’t seem to think it will pull all that much more rent.

Thoughts?
