Would you guys recommend/trust using city-data.com to learn about a submarkets economy and workforce?

@Jason Ma Don't use city data in isolation. Some of the info. is stale but overall it is a good website. I would go directly to the census reports as well as brokerage research.

Would follow the above with city data and other web based resources.
