Should I get a real estate related job?

Hello BP,

I am located in central New Jersey and currently have 1 buy & hold property and am searching for my second. In the past year I have become fairly obsessed with gaining knowledge and educating myself about real estate.

My current job has a mediocre salary and I am indifferent about keeping it or not. I would love to jump fully into real estate including switching my corporate job to a full time real estate related job while still investing part time. Also I am hoping this would broaden my real estate network eventually leading me to additional deals.

Aside from the most popular being a real estate agent I was wondering what other real estate related jobs people have had success with in the past. Working at a portfolio lender or title company were some thoughts but I am open to anything and wanted to see what other options were out there.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

-Chris

Hey @Chris Martino

I am totally qualified to answer this question. Before real estate I was hopping from part time job to part time job all while being an entrepreneur and running multiple businesses until a dramatic change happened in my life over time. The first change was making Jesus the head of my life and the 2nd becoming a real estate investor.

I became a wholesaler full-time, no money was coming in at first but I was constantly looking for deals anytime I had the chance when I wasnt making delivers for Amazon Prime. HINT: Amazon FLEX program actually helped me find deals while I was driving around making delivers on my own time. Finally, I had some deals on the table and brought them to the wholesalers that taught me how to do it from their podcasts. It just so happened that they had a position open because they had been experiencing some growth. I had to pray on it because I just got into real estate and I thought I could do it own my own. I applied, they thought I was a great fit and hired me. And boy was I wrong about thinking I knew enough to keep going on alone.

I am learning so much and getting connected with people that aren't just all talk but action!

So my answer is YES! But they need to be the right fit for you and vice versa. Just don't apply anywhere because you want to be involved. Make sure it is with the right people otherwise you just might hate it.
