FB CEO is razing 4 neighbor's home
According to City of Palo Alto Planning Department Mark Zukerberg & Pricilla Chan will "demolish" 4 homes they purchased. During 2012 and 2013 together they purchased 4 homes paid for 30+ million dollars in Palo Alto’s Tony Crescent Park neighborhood.
These 4 homes are to be replaced with smaller houses on the same lots so new residents won’t be able to see into the billionaire’s backyard. Mark has not given much thought about future plans. He may sell or rent out later.
Actor Jimmy Stewart after retirement wanted a bigger garden and he bought next door home in Beverly Hills, California. He razed it so he can grow tomatoes. When there were visitors he would offer home grown tomatoes. This is not the case, Jimmy's 2,000 sf and his life style then is no match to today's affluent life style.
With the Zukerbergs their backyard has a pool can be viewed by his neighbors. He is rebuilding them with smaller homes (most likely 1 story) with no view into his backyard.
Zuckerberg, bought his current home, a 1903 5 bedroom, 6 bath 5,617 sf residence in March 2011 for $7 million. No, he did not pay his home in cash.
If one is worth 4.4 M a day $30 million dollars is just a week of income.
Before this principle home purchase, they were just renters.
