Active Duty Separation

Hello everyone!

I am separating from active duty in about 6.5 months, and plan to move to the DFW area.  I plan to do some house hacking when I move, and I've got my eyes on a couple of properties.  Here is where the problem comes in however.  I want to see if anyone has any advice.

How can I time my move? If I get a VA loan for my new home, which I intend to do, I think I am required to move in within 60 days of closing. 60 days is quite some time, but if the property needs some rehab work, what am I to do?!

Thanks in advance,

Josh
