Squatter's Rights?

I was going to close on a REO yesterday, went to the house for a final walk-through, and there's a SQUATTER!! This guy is living in this house without the bank's knowledge. He actually went thru the house with my agent and told us he "stories" of how he got locked up and this was his house and he forclosed his own house blah blah blah......

Anyway, I told the bank to get rid of him before I close. I didn't want the burden of handling that matter. My question is, does this squatter have any rights as a squatter in this building? He does have some of his belongings in the house for a while now.
