Cedar Rapids Landlord Class

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd share a piece of information I received regarding the Landlord Class the city of Cedar Rapids, IA is requiring all landlords to take. If you already knew, no big deal. I didn't know so I figured there would be a few other newbies who'd be asking!

1. If you are planning on using a property managment company, you don't need the course.
2. This course is only applicable in Cedar Rapids. If you decide to purchase a property in surrounding areas (Marion, Hiawatha, Robins, etc.), no worries!
3. If this is your FIRST investment property, you do NOT need to take the class to start out your investment journey. They haven't quite decided how their going to deal with new landlords, as they don't have a regularly scheduled class yet. They're exploring options for new landlords such as requiring them to take the class within the first 6 months or year of being a landlord.

Let me know if you have any questions about the class or if you are wondering if you need to take it!

Have a great day!
