Investing decisions for the future
Hi everyone,
It has been awhile since I have posted on here, but am excited to get back in!
Currently all I own is a 70-year old house that I live in--it is in good shape but needs updates. I updated the bathroom/porch in the spring, and am finishing construction on a 2-stall garage (the previous garage was basically a large shed that I could not fit much in).
Moving forward I am considering one of the following options to put my money and build equity:
1. Continue renovating my current house--big projects would include finishing the basement (adding a bedroom/bathroom/living rm space) and putting new siding on (the current siding is probably the original). These will be more expensive projects, but the house would be greatly updated and more appealing.
2. Look at buying my first investment property (probably a house in the 100-150k range) and begin looking for a tennant.
I can imagine there a lot of different theories/ideas with what one could do here--I am just curious to see what other people think. Any advice/thoughts are appreciated as always!
