Passive RE investment

Ana Vhan
Posted

Hi,

We own a couple of homes in the country and have first hand seen how difficult it is to manage the rentals remotely.

Now, we are looking into going the passive investment route. We like single family, apartment, multi-family type investments. But don't want to purchase and manage anymore. What are some less complicated ways to go about passive investment? Just started reading about the crowdfunding platforms like fundrise and crowdstreet. Are these platforms a way to go or are there any other ways?

Thank you. Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks!

@Ana Vhan you can go the retail route and invest in REITs on the public markets, or invest in homebuilder stock.  Or you can go the private placement route, investing in passive real estate syndications.  This is a whole other world, so if this concept is new to you I recommend reading up on the topic before you invest a single dollar.  There are a lot of alligators in the pond.

BiggerPockets happens to have a book on the topic written by yours truly--it's available here:  https://store.biggerpockets.com/products/the-hands-off-inves...
