Luxury Vinyl Flooring or Luxury Laminate Flooring?

Hi! In your experience, which flooring overall holds up the best with your rentals? I've been reading mixed opinions so far online. Thanks!

In addition to the thickness, make sure you choose something with a good wear layer. Generally 12mil and up is ideal for rental properties. I personally wouldn't go lower than that.

We prefer 5-8mm thickness. You can buy some really thin material but it's not as good. Some products don't have the pad attached. It's easier to install with the pad attached reducing labor costs. It depends on your budget. I think the key is the 100% waterproof. It's really good for rentals.

@Clareen Eberly I'd choose 100% water proof luxury vinyl flooring for a rental. LVP is more susceptible to water damage. We have installed both in different properties but only because of deals on material and inexperience. After working with a flooring contractor we plan to only install vinyl. It's more durable and requires less maintenance. Water can't get through the click-n-lock edges.

Keep in mind the flooring needs to be relatively flat to install either product. Installers charge more to level floors and remove nails or staples. Best of luck.
