Will corporations be banned from owning homes?
I'm a little concerned about this because there has recently been a lot of fury directed at landlords who buy homes in corporate entities, and there have been several comments from people requesting that corporations owning homes should be banned. People are furious and are calling out on all social platforms. I am a bit concerned here I have a lot of properties in corps, will this ever be banned? I really dont want it to be

I'm fairly ignorant about this latest "moral panic." To be honest, it's quite exhausting to try to keep up with all the various controversies of the day. Nevertheless, here are my 2 cents:
1) Private property is an essential part of our constitution. Without private property, many of our civil liberties would be in jeopardy. For example, how can one have freedom of assembly if one cannot own the property on which they will assemble?
2) Concerning private property ownership, the law rarely distinguishes between corporations, individuals or other entities. When you hear talk about how "corporations are not people," these individuals don't understand that the law isn't calling corporations "people," it is simply stating that under the constitution, they have the same private property rights as individuals.
3) My generation (millenials), is a bit of a confused mess. They claim to hate corporations, yet they almost worship certain ones (re: Apple). I wouldn't give too much credence to this outcry. Unless some massive legal gymnastics occurs, this seems to be a very unlikely scenario any time soon.
