Recently divorced business owner father of two. I’m currently renting a small apartment and I’m torn between buying a house or going for it and taking the proceeds from the sale of the house I owned with my ex and buying investment real estate. I have over $100k liquid. I want to invest in multi fams and use that cash flow to cover my rent. Has anyone have advice to offer?

Could you possibly start with a duplex or triplex?  Not sure how the market is in your area but it seems like doing that you could make a nice home for your children, while getting started in real estate.  I agree with the first commenter though that bottom line, making your children comfortable and secure should come first.
