Replacing interior doors
Hi BP community,
I’m hoping someone might have experience with this. I found some great used 6 panel doors to replace the very worn looking hollow doors in my house hack. The problem-as you could imagine-is that notches don’t line up. Would you:
1. Recut the hinge notches on the door
2. Recut the notches on the frame
3. Shave off a small amount on the top of the door so that everything lines up.
I’m concerned also that the new screw holes will weaken the frame or door because they’re so close to the old holes.
Thanks for any suggestions. I thought by saving a little bit it would be worth it to get used doors...now I’m not so sure.

This is why I don't buy used doors. It's worth the money to slap in a new one rather than trying to make a used one fit.
