Offering WiFi to Tenants
Is anyone setting up WiFi for tenants in multi family properties?
I am interested in getting ahead of the curve when it comes to smart home tech, but it would work a lot better with active WiFi in the apartments.
I don’t want to become a network admin though, but it seems like it could potentially be a new revenue stream or a differentiator if it was offered as a free amenity.
Here’s an article I just read on vertical rent.

Is anyone doing this? Can you share your experience?
Thanks!

I ended up offering it in one of my historic old brick buildings, a 10-unit mixed use.
I only offer it because it's too difficult to install new service and installers are rough on property.
For me it's more of an amenity vs revenue source. It's a rural one horse town that doesn't have a laundromat, so I also offer free communal laundry use on a schedule.
Free is relative. Obviously I build things into the rent but am still the best value and can advertise free Wi-Fi in my listings.
Because it's free and I'm just old and a bad handyman, I am def not the tech admin. I agree that job would suck and not be worth the extra $20 or whatever per month.
