Should I invest in REIT for now???????

Hi All,

I'm in the process of repairing my credit, and I live and work in an area with very little RE investment opportunities. I would like to invest in NW Indiana and Chicago areas which I'm familiar with, but I don't know any investors there. I am also very skeptical of investing my hard earned cash with a complete stranger, having been a victim of investment scam. Should i just invest my cash in REIT for now until my credit is back on track? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS ALL!!!!!!!

That seems like a matter of prospective. One of the most creative investors I ever met made his mark in Danville, IL. Exactly... Nowhere but he was creative and got it done. If you're looking to invest outside of your area then there is no way to do that unless you partner or just generally trust someone to a degree - for instance the property manager. That sounds like a hang up which can be mitigated by first looking in your area - unless you move or go vet that area yourself and know what a deal looks like.
