EQUITY INPUT/STEP BY STEP CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

I'm looking to begin the construction process by subbing out work and to get as far as I can on my own dime to put more equity in and avoid as much fee/upcharging as possible. I would like to get the complete foundation done. Does anyone know a great step by step commercial construction book. I have to use piers due to unstable ground, so I want to get piers, plumbing concrete done and maybe even some framing though doubtful. Sounds silly I know...but as we all know we've got to pinch every dime.
