HOW DO I FIND OUT WHO OWNS THIS LLC

Question

The LLC has a commercial Registered Agent and when I look that agent company up it has another commercial Registered Agent with a similar name. How do I find out who owns the LLC?

Sometimes you can. Sometimes you can’t.  Depends on if they want to be found. I know people that don’t want to be found and have two LLc’s that just point at each other.  Good luck finding out who owns that one.

Probably won't find them unless they want to be found and even if you can find out who owns it getting them a hold of them may be a whole other issue.  Court records, Linkedin, Facebook and Google are probably methods you have already tried but why are you trying to find the LLC.

I can't find a website for the LLC and i can't find anything on corporationwiki either. Thank you for the suggestions.

Sounds like the LLC owner followed Clint Coons/Anderson Advisor's asset protection advice.  You probably won't be able to find the owner.

@Allison Meggison One other way that may not give you a definite answer whether this person is tied to the LLC is to look up their website domain registration. If they have one of course. Google ICANN Whois. Then type in the website address. Sometimes you get a name, address, and phone number of the person that registered the website address. If you're lucky they may be the person tied to the LLC.

Not easy to find the owner when they use a corporation registration agent. A couple ideas: (1) try corporationwiki.com. Might be an entry there for the company with officers listed (2) if you know the property address, check the county tax records and see where the tax bills go. Good luck!
