HOA Foreclosure Auction Did Not Meet County Requirements

Hi all,

Newbie here, trying to figure out what to do with a bid that was cancelled at the last minute. It's an HOA Foreclosure that has a clean title otherwise. At the last minute, the auction was cancelled because "it did not meet county requirements". I called the court and learned that the plaintiff (HOA Attorney) did not pay a $70 fee to the court, so it was cancelled. I asked if it would be rescheduled for auction after this fee is paid and they said I can keep checking back.

So, my questions are:

1) This doesn't seem right to me. What attorney forgets to pay a minor fee like that? Is there something else going on here? As I mentioned, it is a great investment given there are no other liens/mortgages associated with it.

2) Can I contact the HOA's attorney directly? Is that a bad idea? Will he give me any information about if they are moving forward with the foreclosure auction again? Should I just sit tight and keep contacting the court to see if this goes back up? If so, how long does it typically take for these things to get rescheduled for auction?

Thanks in advance. I'm looking for other properties to bid on in the meantime, but haven't found anything as solid as this one.
