Door Knocking Time line

I have started door knocking with Pre-Foreclosure leads for about 1 week. Out of the 8 people that I have visited 2 have been listed with a real estate agent. 4 were vacant. 1 person answered the door but the owner will return on the date of the foreclosure. 1 daughter answered. So I believe that this is a good lead source even though out of 8 homes, I have yet to speak to a owner...SOOOO ready!!! So I think that by the time I get to the owner...I won't be ready....LOL...also,I am looking to wholesale so that is the end game.

Here are my questions:

  • I am looking at a time frame. How far from the auction dates should I look? I have been out about 1 week but most owners are gone or have listed...maybe 3 weeks?
  • Also how long can the owners stay after the auction in VA?
  • Any other door knocking advice is greatly appreciated...Thanks, BP
