Sometimes it's not all a BED OF ROSES

Well, I went to the attorney today to start the forclosure (actually "Trustee's sale as we're a "Trust Deed" state). These people have been jacking around ever since they bought the place in October 2003.

They've NEVER been on time, but I've been getting $50 extra a month in late charges. But they keep saying things like "we'll bring you $250 per week until we're caught up", but they bring $250, $200, $0, $0, $250, $0, $200 etc. They've never gotten more than about two months behind but in the last two weeks they told BIGGER LIES THAN NORMAL.

The first was "I've got $700 and I'll bring it over in the morning" of course I never see them. Then the next week I called and she said she had $300 on her but would have more that night when he got paid. I told her to bring the $300 right now, and then as much as possible that night. Naturally she showed up 5 days later with $600. When she didn't show up within 5 hours with the $300 I made the appointment with the attorney.

I felt kind of silly starting the whole process when they're ONLY 6 weeks behind, but in another 4 days they're another month behind. So of course an hour after I leave the attorney's office they want to bring "some money" and then the rest on Friday. Told them, nope, under Texas law once the process is started it's against the law for me to take any money, which is true. Naturally I could hear him yelling in the background the whole time I'm talking to her. Funny thing about loud mouths, they make the wife do the heavy lifting.

The neat thing is the lawyer says it should cost about $600 in total, yay for living in small towns.
