Rookie's question -- just bought a pre-foreclosure house
Just bought a pre-foreclosure house in the trustee sale. The trustee told me that I do have a temporary deed and the formal deed will be mailed to me within 2 weeks. The house looks like nobody lives there (no furniture, empty). Can I go ahead and change lock on this house? If the answer is no, what kind of process I need to take before I change the lock?
Let's say, if the house is obviously abandoned, can I change the lock and start renovation?
Thanks a lot!

yes...it's yours to do as you see fit, as long as its vacant. This is an opinion only and not legal advice:
* Change the locks
* Post "No Tresspassing" in multiple conspicuous places
* Take someone with you for your initial inspection and photograph or video the inspection.
* If there is anything over $300 in value, store it and post notice to all to contact you or your representative for retrieval of personal items.
Last but not least, have a glass of champagne and get a good nights rest cuz tomorrow you are an investor and potential landlord!
