Getting Title and Lien info- is property radar a reliable source?

Hi All,

Just getting my feet wet in the foreclosure Auction business and had a question.  I have done a trial membership on property radar and found it to be helpful, but I was wondering how reliable people think their title and lien info is.  I have heard horror stories of people bidding and winning on properties only to find out that they just payed off some guys swimming pool and not the senior loan.

Is a title search the only way to be sure your bidding on the senior loan?  In my area a title search costs 150-250 and I can't imagine a ll the pros who do numerous houses shell out that much money even before they know if they are going to bid.
