Remainderman - Life estate

Tom Jerige
Posted

Hi, I was a named beneficiary in a life estate as the sole remainderman of two condos. I understand I can sell my interest in both properties. Is anyone aware of any companies that purchase remainderman interests in properties or any experience on who I should approach on selling my interest? (Selling to the life tenant is not an option.) Thank you

Good morning, thank you for the link. While this was helpful, it still does not answer my question. Similar to Structured settlements where a company like J.G.Wenworth buys out the settlement for a fraction of what it is worth...I am looking to do the same with the interest in the property that is ultimately to be left to me. My understanding is that it will mainly be derived on the life tenant's age and value of the condos at the time of sale. I have searched online and found no company or market for this type of transaction. And, it may not simply exist. Just thought I would ask this group. Again, thank you.

Tom, were you ever able to find a company or individual that purchases remainderman interest?  My wife is in the same situation with her father's estate and it has been difficult to find someone.  Please let me know.
