Unlocked home out of state.

I bought a house through auction last month, before sending the deposit I talked to auction house and was told it was recently occupied and needed about 5k in cosmetic work. Looking at housing price in the area thought it was a good investment to start with.

Well, we closed today and the lawyer told me it was unlocked. In a not so great area.

It's my first time buying a whole house out of state where I dont already have family or friends in. It is very difficult to find and agent or contractor that is responsive in Henderson, KY.

I've bought land before, but that was easy.

How do I get this house locked ASAP?

How best to find a good contractor in Kentucky?

There are no real estate online groups thatvI can find. Please help.

I am in HTX.

Thanks in advance.
