Grantor --- who will be my lead when multiple grantors?

What does it mean when a multifamily (4 units) has 4 different grantors? Does it mean the owner died and passed it down to someone before he died? Sorry! I am getting familiar with the American rules.

How do I know who my lead will be.... do I contact all 4? and try to get as many units as possible?
