Becoming a realtor (Houston area)

Blake Hernandez
Posted

I am considering making a career change and am looking for advice.  I have been working in chemical plants (project scheduler / "excel guy") for a few years but the uncertainty and constant relocating can be draining.  So I am considering becoming a realtor.  I have already been dealing with real-estate for years with my investments (buying, rehabing renting) and would like to get in deeper in both investing and selling.  My investments also give me the ability to "start over" with out having to sell plasma to make ends meet.
I have done some you-tubing and reading and am just looking for more advice.
For instance should I go get my license 1st or look for an office and go more entry level.
What should I look for in a brokerage office.  I keep hearing about Keller Williams over and over.
What are some things you wish you would have known when you got started.
I am thinking of starting out in League city ( south of Houston) does any one have any advice pertinent to that area.
What questions should I ask that I am not asking.

Thank you in advance.
