Looking for Vacation Rental Investment in New Hampshire
Hi There!
My family and I have been thinking for a while to get a vacation property in the NH area. This year we are finally ready to pull the trigger. Our idea would be to use the home for about a month a year and try to Airbnb the rest of the time. I have been reading some other posts and came to the conclusion that it might be difficult to completely offset all the house costs (mortgage, insurance, home maintenance, taxes, ...), but at the same time we'd be happy if we could reduce the costs :).
We are hoping to find a place that can be used both in the summer (we are considering a lake house) and in the winter (within 30 min from a ski resort). We live in the Boston North Shore and considering a place in the 2h driving range. The areas we are currently looking at are:
- Gunstock Mountain
- King Pine
- Ragged Mountain
- Sunapee
I was hoping for this post to help us out getting started with the proces:
- Is there anybody out there who did something similar? I'd love to connect and hear about your experience!
- Does anybody have a recommendation for a real state agency around the areas I listed above?
- Any general suggestion any of you might have is welcome! I am pretty green in the rental business. We do own one rental unit in the Boston area, but that is long term and not quite the same situation.
Thanks!!
