OOS group investing

I see a lot of people on here wanting to invest OOS but are apprehensive due to distance or whatever their reason may be. Would it be beneficial to get a group of 5 or so people together that are interested in the same market to group up and utilize the same team? Not necessarily purchase together but maybe use same realtor, GCs, PMs, etc.... could also have someone drive by your property or properties when they’re out there to make sure any rehabs are underway or just that the property is being kept up....

Benefits? Drawbacks? Is doing something like this realistic?

Would love some opinions on it.

Thanks.
