LLC as Mortgage co-signer

Can an LLC co-sign on a mortgage loan? I have clients who want to purchase an investment property together. One partner is in a good financial position. The other partner has cash, but his ratios are terrible because his income is undocumented. Can the "weaker" partner start an LLC, have the LLC invest with the "stronger" partner. The weaker partner wants his LLC to be liable for the loan so that he can take the mortgage interest deduction.
