BEND AND CENTRAL OREGON are CRAZY busy !!
We moved up here from southern CA, wanting to find a place easier to build, with a good demand for housing. We had no idea we were getting in on such a growth spurt! Over 20 people a day are moving into Central Oregon!
We had a little bit of a learning curve, and weren't sure on the weather, so put off starting construction until the spring. However; as it turned out we could have started in that fall, and been done by spring, but it still worked out, We also had to familiarize ourselves with subs and it was a bit of trial an error, but overall, 99% of them were great and we'll use again.
Since getting here we remodeled a manufactured home in La Pine, OR, and sold it right away. It was in a vacation area, close to lakes, etc. and we chose a rustic cabin style. It sold right away. Next up we started a new construction SFR home in Three Rivers area, close to the Big Deschutes River. We just finished it a few weeks ago, and accepted an offer on it yesterday, Now we're finishing up the final touches on a remodel in Sunriver, that more than likely will be purchased for a Vacation Rental property by an investor, or a 2nd home. It's within 30 minutes of Mt. Bachelor, close to the Deschutes River and miles of hiking / biking trails, plus the HOA has a waterpark.
All three of these projects had Biggerpockets nvestors in with us.
In addition to all of that, I immediately got a meetup going in Bend, which was handed off to @Grayson Graham and he's been doing an incredible job building on it. (I'm originally from Redding, CA and due to the fires, etc. I may be going down to do some work there too, while my son is now licensed in OR , allowing us to work both markets! )
