Property going through Divorce

Hi all,

This is my first question, but I hope I will find the answers on this platform.

References - I am not referring any names in this post for the sake of privacy for the home-owners and hence the characters in this situation will be referred as -

Wife - "W"

Husband - "H"

Brother of Wife - "B"

Attorney (from wife's side) - "A"

Property 1 - "P1"

Property 2 - "P2"

I will try to explain the situation as clearly as possible, please feel free to post below if you have further questions.

Situation - Two properties belong to a couple who is going through a very sad and messy divorce. I spoke to the Brother of the wife ("B"), and discussed the possible situations- Unfortunately after working on the property details and researching the title for the property, I found out that the title belongs to both of them. Husband "H" and wife "W" have a very bitter relationship. "B" lives in one of couples' property "P1" as a renter in order to avoid invasion from "H". The other property "P2" is occupied by "H" and his family.

During the discussion, "B" told me that the "P2" belonged to "W"'s family and "H" put his name on the title after marriage and "W" can sell the property. I made it clear to "B" that the property is titled under both "W" and "H", but he is very adamant that their Attorney "A" said that "W" can sell the property without consent from "H". I could not get "W" to talk to me and understand her situation deeper, but I asked "B" to pass a list of my questions to "W" and be a mode of communication.

Since, this is my first time dealing with a Divorce situation in this business I am very confused and concerned if I will fall into some kind of a trouble. I am looking for a list of questions that I need to ask in order to understand and get involved in the deal, as well as if you have any suggestions in this kind of deals, I would highly appreciate the input.

I would like to thank you all for reading through this post and taking time out to consider me worthy for an answer. And, thank you in advance for your responses.

Best Regards,
Udit.
