quit claim deeds to remove liability

If I own an investment property that is not in my wife's name and do a quit claim deed on our home that we own together, making my wife the sole owner of our home, will that remove the chance of any legal action made by a renter etc...? In other words can someone sue me and be rewarded equity of our home if my name is not on the deed?

Ask your insurance agent about an umbrella insurance policy. That will give you some protection. No one is ever 100% covered, but you want to cover what you feel most vulerable. 

I would not start moving deeds. Take care of your properties and your tenants and your chance of getting sued goes down dramatically.
