$5 home appraisals?🤔
I am about to put my house on the market and looking for a good appraiser with experience. I searched for home appraisers in my area through Thumbtackand the first recommendation was a lender who was not a lisenced appraiser and only charges $5. Is this too good to be true or this a strategy for more business?
Thanks!

Yes it is likely too good to be true and unlicensed in this case is basically paying a random person $5 for his or her opinion that is no better than yours, it will not hold any weight with anyone. You'd likely be better off asking a realtor for a CMA which they will likely give you for free.
