Pre approval letter

Hi everyone, I am looking to get some advice on getting a pre-approval letter for a property I am interested in buying but the realtor is requesting a pre-approval letter. I haven't even decided if I want to do hard money or just traditional financing but I know I would pass to get pre-approved just need to help on what is the fastest route to get this. The property is in Indianapolis and I live in California so I wasn't sure if I were to just stop in a bank here could tgive me that, Or would I have to contact banks in Indianapolis and try to get pre-approved that way. Either way I am looking for the fastest route. One problem I have had with the first lender is the amount being too low. The amount is under 60k. Thanks for your help ahead of time! Terone Johnson
