best comeback toward angry people?

Question

what has been your best comeback toward someone who you sent a letter and they call back and go RAH RAH RAH DONT EVER SEND ME A LETTER TRYING TO BUY MY HOUSE!

i forget where i read it but so far mine is "do you get this mad when dominoes sends you a coupon asking you to buy their pizza?" .  i have yet to use it.

usually i just like to poke some fun at them a little bit to get them more worked up but i dont do anything mean.

you need a story to go along with it. whats the funniest thing you have heard them yell at you for?

Why respond? Obviously they aren't motivated, nor the type of person you want the stress of dealing with. Just hang up, and move on.

My personal opinion is to always take business opportunities seriously. I also don't think it's good practice to antagonize people you're soliciting to, even if you think you're being subtle.

@Dale Stevens is right. You shouldn't be getting involved or even worry about responses that aren't opportunities.

in fact, poking fun or getting into an ego battle with someone like that could turn them from a unlikely prospect to a definite no.

be polite, keep focused on what's important, and move forward.

Not precisely what you're asking but I love this - I'm selling a house for X, and I tell the guy "I'm selling the house for X.' Typical response - HOW MUCH!?!? 'Why six months ago it sold for X-20000!!! That's robbery!'

As if the price six months ago has any bearing whatsoever on the conversation. What matters is what the fair market value is at present.
