If you have never been in an actual violent scenario you truly do not know how fast it can happen. ( I have been back when I was a teen at Panama City Beach ). Long story but the short of it happened in broad daylight on the beach with 3 of us and 12 of them. They were a gang staying nowhere going from beach to beach the cops said after words looking for booze and drug money. This would explain why the turned my friend upside down. I didn't know anything but a punch at the time and when I hit one I was on the ground with 4 around me. Luckily I screamed help and some other unknown guys came up and started fighting with the ring leader. We went back to the hotel 4 down and when we came back the officer said the gang leader had busted out a room and washed out the spray from his eyes from security. The group fled and they never found them. I then went into martial arts and have studied for decades along with real world training.

All of these weapons mentioned give people false security which is worse than not having a weapon at all.

WHY??

The reason is simple. If you do not train multiple times a week and stay efficient with your weapons and practice their use then it just becomes weapons the perp can turn around and use on you.

Knife, gun, spray, whatever. It doesn't really matter if you are rusty and they take it from you.

So do not lull yourself into security because you bought something and never use it. Also do not stereotype and attacker. There has been everything from children to 90 year people killing  someone. So the point is to not be paranoid but have a high awareness at all times and be ready. I can be relaxed but be ready at all times to go if I have to. I make no assumptions about anyone not being a threat. Hope it helps.

If you are showing a house keep them in front of you where you can see them. If it's multiple parties let them all go first. Stay close to exits. If you hear a noise you do not go to the noise.

No defense or legal advice.
