Transferring title on a property received as a beneficiary from a self directed 401k
My late wife and I held joint interests in a piece of real estate in our separate individual self directed 401k accounts. Hers was a partial interest (8% of total ownership) in the property within her self directed 401k. Upon her passing, the 401k interest was transferred to me into an inherited IRA account at the same servicer. No change to the title was made at that time. The original deed listed multiple owners and percentages including her 8% interest, and now myself and the other owners want to sell the property---how do we get this retitled into my account (or my name) in order to facilitate the sale? There is title insurance issued at the time of purchase, so we don't want to invalidate that. Can we just take care of this at the time of the sale?
