To be or not to be an Agent

Hello everyone!

My wife and I are in the beginnings of our journey into the world of real estate and we are looking into one or both of us getting our real estate license.

The thought is that it can save us a bit of money in the long run and also give us access to some tools like the MLS.

I have concerns though about having to work under a broker.

How do those relationships usually work? 

Are there minimums you’re required to sell per year? 

Do you have to pay them a fee to be in the brokerage?

Any insight would be much appreciated.
