400ft Communication Tower effect on property value?

Angela Don
Posted

Hi, I bought a new construction home with a 400ft communication tower (owned by the city) nearby. The tower is on the end of the block about 8-9 houses down. It's very visible from the front yard. Its not a cellular tower, its a radio communication tower for fire and police.

Curious if you think this will impact re-sale value and by how much. What are ways to mitigate impact?

Hey Angela. There's not a lot you can really do about it. I have had a similar problem recently. I have a beautiful home that Iisted for my client...but the neighbor's house on one side is ugly. There is not really much you can do to block out that tower. I would focus on making the backyard amazing so that whoever the next buyer is can have a nice outdoor space (maybe a pool, florida room and/or garden) to enjoy.
