Doing Repairs Before Closing

Demon S Rogers
Posted

Hello everyone! I am currently under contract and seeking some guidance on repairs that need to be made on a home I'm buy. So there's two types of repairs that need to be done repairs to close and plumbing repairs that don't need to be done right now. The repairs to close are totalling at $2k and plumbing repairs are $6k. We are rerunning lines underneath the house with better quality lines that's why the estimate is at 6k now. It's not something that needs to but done now but I was told the quality of the pipe used it's only a matter of time before I get a leak or it fails so I'm just going to replace it sooner rather than later so I don't get a call from a tenant at 2 o'clock in the morning. .. My question is would you guys wait to do plumbing repairs until I close. Only reason I would want them done before is so as soon as I close I can move someone in as soon as possible. I have to do the repairs to close no matter what because it's the only thing left my mortgage company needs to close, proof everything is fixed. I guess there's no harm in waiting I'm just already in contact with the plumber. Any thoughts would be great thank you.
